I can’t recommend Attorney Mehalic enough. I reached out on a Saturday with an urgent issue, and he got back to me by Sunday evening—that alone was a huge relief as I wasn’t expecting a response until Monday at the earliest. He took the reins and negotiated aggressively with the dealership to get me a successful outcome. If you want someone who actually fights for you and responds on the weekend, this is your guy.

I was going through a very difficult time in my life when I was referred to Mr. Mehalik. I purchased a vehicle through a shady car dealership. Very long story short, they repossessed my vehicle, Illegally. After months of trying everything, I was introduced to Mr. Mehalic. I have to say that he is not like most lawyers. He's very kind, understanding and patient. But also very knowledgeable and will get the job done! And get the job done right! I live close to 3 hours from his office, so we had to do everything through emails and phone calls. He made it so easy. I was so blessed to have him as my lawyer, because we did win! And that's how I paid him for his services, with the money that I got back from the company that I bought the car from. I got back every penny that I gave them! The same as the other complaints. Paid a $5,000 retainer fee approximately five or more months ago and nothing done yet. He has not contacted the contractor who broke the contract. Nor, has he file any paperwork with the courts. He always have an excuse for not working on my case. The main excuse, he is always out of town.

Wasted My Time and Misrepresented the Law I came to this attorney with a well-documented case under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. I was upfront from the beginning that the vehicle had been traded in after the manufacturer refused to honor warranty repairs and caused significant financial harm. Despite knowing this, the attorney later backed out and claimed I had “no case” because I no longer possessed the vehicle — which is factually and legally incorrect. This was a textbook breach of warranty: documented defect, refusal to repair, and financial damages (including reduced trade-in value) that occurred while the warranty was active. I even provided photos, emails, and dealership proof — all before trading in the car due to safety concerns. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands federal warranty law or will advocate for you beyond a paint-by-numbers lemon law case, keep looking. I regret wasting valuable time with someone who ultimately didn’t take my claim seriously or understand the law beyond surface level.

I'm still waiting for him to provide me with an actual update. I have sent numerous emails inquiring about how my case is going and I have received nothing of use only excuses and not very many of those either.

good luck getting ANY help on a case with this guy. this attorney is a joke & “quit” before anything even began. he seemed extremely keen on helping my boyfriend & i with a lemon law case & assured us all would be successful. i had no reason to doubt his confidence & willingness to help. until i was hesitant to electronically sign a document i couldn’t even access or review without signing first…so i sent (via email) a contract of obligations for him to sign instead as advised by a friend’s lawyer. that’s when he stopped responding, even after we sent multiple emails & called his office. he pathetically & ultimately comes up a month later saying he can no longer represent me (with no further context other than that) when he was fully set on doing so a month ago. not sure what changed or if he was just in it to scam some unsuspecting girl & it didn’t work. i could’ve spent my time that HE wasted getting back to looking for an attorney with my best interest in mind. it should NOT have taken this long to be told yes initially then left hanging.

Extremely Unprofessional, took nearly a month after sending documents that could not be viewed without signing and initially agreeing to help, to say he could not represent my case. Very unethical practices as a lawyer, had to call his office multiple times over the course of almost 2 months with no responses.
